Ingredients
- 1 tempeh burger or buy a block
- 3 tbls tamari or shoyu (Japanese soy sauce)
- 1 onion, sliced, bbq’d or caramelised in olive oil
- 1 spelt sourdough burger bun
- 1 tbls soy mayo
- 1/3 cup each of grated beetroot and carrot
- 1/2 avocado
- A few mixed leaves
Method
- Marinate the burger in the soy sauce whilst you prepare the rest. (If you’ve bought a block of tempeh, then cut a piece to fit your burger and slice in half to make thinner).
- Next caramelise your onions, and grate the veggies.
- Now either grill, bbq, chargrill or pan fry the tempeh.
- Whilst that’s happening toast your bun (nice on the chargriller).
- Put some mayo on the bun and then top the burger with the other ingredients the same as you would any burger.
