What you will need
- 1 x Wooden Coffee Tray
- 1 x Mosaic Wheeled Nipper
- 1 x Craft Glue
- 1 x Dove Grey Craft Grout
- 12 x Packs White Mosaic
- 2 x Packs Lime Green Mosaic
- 2 x Packs Cherry Red Mosaic
- Variety Glitter Mosaics
- Black Spray Paint to spray the sides
- 1 x Box Pratliglo
- 1 x Cleaning Sponge
- 1 x White Board Marker (to draw your design and to draw the petals on the mosaic tile – NOT A PERMANENT MARKER)
Step By Step Instructions
- Step 1:
Draw a your flower pot design on your coffee tray with your white board marker.
- Step 2:
Cut the Glitter 25mm x 25mm tiles in four equal square.
- Step 3:
Draw a petal shape on each square with your whiteboard marker.
- Step 4:
Nip along the drawn lines with your mosaic wheeled nipper.
- Step 5:
Stick your petals down with your craft glue.
Tip: Only put glue where you are currently busy or it might result in a raised, uneven finish.
- Step 6:
Nip your red mosaic into random pieces and start mosaicing your flower pot.
Tip: Start with the outline of the pot and then work your way in.
- Step 7:
Nip your Lime Green tiles into stem like shapes, stick the stems down with your craft glue.
- Step 8:
Nip Green Leaves (same as the petals in step 3 & 4) and stick it down next to your stems.
- Step 9:
Nip the White into random pieces and start filling in the background by sticking it down with your craft glue.
- Step 10:
While waiting for your project to dry (should take about 30mins). Start mixing your grout with water until it is the consistency of cookie dough.
Tip: If you are doing an outdoor project mix some bonding liquid with your grout to make it water resistant.
- Step 11:
Spread your grout evenly into all the caps, once it is dry sponge the excess grout off with a damp sponge. Be careful not to remove too much grout in the process so that it makes holes. Once the grout is completely dry polish the project with a dry cloth. (do not use polish products).
- Step 12:
Spray paint the sides of the tray, avoid getting paint on your mosaic by sticking a piece of old newspaper over your project.
- Step 13:
After your tray is dry and free of dust you can know pour your Pratliglo on, this gives your project a wonderful glass finished look and will also avoid coffee and tea stains on your grout.
