Side Table & Checkers Board

This week Peter and Annalien build a small side table which can be used for almost anything especially as a games table. To compliment this they make a checkers board out of Pine and Meranti wood. See how they make it and what tools they use to make life a little easier so that you can make your own.

You will need:

GCM compound mitre saw Pine20mm (PAR) NB NB Not warped as it’s a table top
PST 18 Jigsaw  Top – 500 mm x 500mm – 1 piece
POF 1400 plus circle/parralell guide Checkers board 320 x 320mm – 1 piece
PSR 10.8 Cordless drill Driver checkers pieces 40mm x 320mm – 5 pieces
PSR 18 Cordless Drill Driver sides 60mm x 400mm – 4 pieces
PEX 220 Eccentric/Random Orbital sander cleats 20 x 20 x 400mm – 8 pieces
  Meranti 20mm thick (same thickness as pine)
  Legs – 400mm wide x 400mm – 2 pieces (grain in direction of 400mm) or closest you can get to width 
PFS 3000 spray gun checkers pieces 40mm x 320mm – 5 pieces
  ,+/- 20mm pine broom stick – 1 piece
  ,+/- 20mm meranti broom stick – 1 piece
  Glue
  4 x 40 mm cut screws
  Pine wood filler
  Clear varnish
  small rubber feet – 8 pieces (like a door stop but smaller)
  clear spray paint
