Hosted by Australian film and television legend, Michael Caton, Hot Property continues to follow colourful characters as they wrestle with the perils and pitfalls of the property game. 

The new series promises all the drama of selling properties under the hammer. We meet the vendors, the nervous buyers and watch the market dictate the real price of Aussie real estate. Packed full of up to date market info, Hot Property is a must watch for any home buyer.

Episode 1

Grange, SA: Liliana and Antonio are forced to sell up their dream home after Antonio suffered a near fatal heart attack. They need $830,000 at auction, so Antonio can give up work and have an easier life. The pressure is on their agent to perform… who just happens to be their daughter in law!

Blacktown, NSW: Newly weds Emily and Brad are putting their first home together under the hammer. They want to move up to the Central Coast to be closer to Emily’s family, and have spotted the perfect house. They need $310,000 to make their plan work, will it be tears of joy or tears of sadness come auction day?

Episode 2

Paddington, NSW: Brett and Jenna are a young country couple with luck on their side. 4 years ago they won top prize in a raffle – a fully renovated terrace, in the Sydney suburb of Paddington. Great prize, but not very practical if you live in Bathurst! So Brett and Jenna rented the place out and used the money to build the house of their dreams. That house is nearly finished, so now its time to cash in … Question is,  will their terrace make them millionaires?

Wavell Heights, QLD: Jo and Michael love their luxuries. They have renovated their Brisbane home with no expense spared and already have set their sights on their next project – a new build. They’ve gone ahead and bought the block of land, now all they need is to sell their home.

Episode 3

Westmeadows, VIC: Chris is fed up with commuting. Every day he spends up to four hours battling the Melbourne traffic just to get to and from work.  He and wife Tania and kids love their family home, but for Chris’s sanity they have to sell up.  Now its down to Yogi, the opera singing auctioneer to fetch them the best price.

Glenelg, SA: Gloria Rump is an elderly vendor sitting on a gold mine. She’s lived in her waterfront Adelaide home for almost half a century, and now she’s selling up and moving to be closer to family.  Prime real estate like this, doesn’t come on the market very often… and its got the buyers in a lather.

Episode 4

Balwyn North, VIC: Agent Dennis has got a very important sale on his hands, the home of his in laws Lydia and Arthur. They’ve been like parents to Dennis, and he desperately wants to get them a great price to secure their future.

Camperdown, NSW: David Westaway runs a tile shop / design service in Waverly, and for years he’s helped friends renovate their homes, so they can sell up and climb the property ladder; But now its David’s turn to play the renovation game. With the help of friends, he has restored a Camperdown cottage from dump to designer pad. So will his hard work reap the rewards come auction day?

Episode 5

Melbourne, VIC: James Makin is a Qantas steward who works and lives in the sky. Home for James is a 20th floor Melbourne city apartment with views to die for, but now he wants to come down to earth and leave the city for a quieter life in nearby Fitzroy.

Maroubra, NSW: Pip and John are desperate for a sea change. In fact this cycling mad couple are so keen, they went ahead and bought a house in the NSW costal town of Thirool, before selling their Maroubra home. With 2 mortgages it’s a struggle… and the only way out is a big sales price, come auction day.

Episode 6

Kingsford, NSW: Peter and Fran Boorer got married four years and purchased their 2 bed Kingsford unit as their first home together. They love the unit, but are keen to start a family, so have purchased a bigger property in nearby Botany.  Now they have 2 homes and 2 mortgages, so they have to sell.

Toowong, QLD: Leisa Woodall likes the fine things in life. So when she came to renovate her Brisbane home, only the best fixtures and fittings would do. The whole family pitched in with the work… and Mum and Dad pitched in some funds too. Now its time to move on and cash in, but will Leisa get her price on auction day.

Episode 7

Adelaide East, SA: When Juliana and John Chen bought their inner city town house, they never imagined they would part with it. But 2 young boys and a surprise baby can change even the best plans. So now the family need to sell their beloved town house.. to pay for new family home.

Balmain, NSW: Ex senator and publisher Irina Dunn is heading west. She is selling her Penthouse apartment in the Sydney suburb of Balmain, to move to the Western suburb of Auburn. The plan is to spend more time with migrant poets and writers in the area. Irina already has already bought the new apartment, all she needs to do now is sell the old one.

Episode 8

Eastlakes, NSW:  Bondi Butcher John, is your classic GFC victim. Just when he thought it was safe to retire, his assets took a nose dive so he had to re-open the business and go back to work. But starting a new shop costs money, so John and wife Kerry are putting their Eastlakes home under the hammer to free up cash for their future.

Ascot, WA: When retiree Cathy Bates moved with her husband to Ascot, it was supposed to be a new start closer to the grand kids. But tragically, shortly after the move her husband passed away, leaving Catherine in a house full of bad memories. Now she’s selling up and making another fresh start, pooling funds with her daughter to get one big family home.
