Requirements

  • Parchment paper
  • Butterfly pattern (Surprisingly Versatile Parchment Paper book)
  • White Pergamano pencil
  • Tinta sepia ink
  • Pintura brown paint
  • Pergamano no: 2 paint brush
  • Pergamano 4 needle perforating tool
  • Pergamano 2 needle perforating tool
  • Pergamano 1 needle bold perforating tool
  • Pergamano extra small ball embossing tool
  • Pergamano star tool 2mm.
  • Multi grid no: 4
  • Paper stamens
  • Mapping pen

Instructions

  • Step 1: Secure the parchment paper over the pattern by using removable tape and start tracing the outlines of the butterfly using the white pencil.
  • Step 2: Now use a mapping pen and the tinta sepia ink and trace the inside of the butterfly onto the paper.
  • Step 3: With the paint brush make small dip dots on the butterfly wings.
  • Step 4: Use the 2 needle perforating tool and make shallow perforating holes, (not pushing the needles all the way through), following the outlines of the butterfly. This will prevent the project to tear when you do the embossing.
  • Step 5: The 4 needle tool is used for the inside of the butterfly, following the same shallow perforating steps as above.
  • Step 6: Use the extra small embossing tool and emboss the back of the butterfly.
  • Step 7: Use the star 2mm tool to create the small circles on the butterfly wing by pressing softly to create small soft embossing marks.
  • Step 8: The butterfly can now be perforated again but pushing the needles all the way through in the shallow holes made in step 4, from the front of the butterfly.
  • Step 9: The butterfly can now be perforated again but pushing the needles all the way through in the shallow holes made in step 4, from the front of the butterfly.
  • Step 10: Use the no 4 grid with the 1 needle bold perforating tool to perforate the outer edge of the wing.
  • Step 11: Attach the paper stamens to your 3-D butterfly using Perga glue.
