This inspirational series returns with regular expert hosts Melissa Porter and Russell Harris and new architectural enthusiast Michael Holmes in their search for Britain’s Best Home.

Each host spends 24 hours exploring the nation’s most fabulous properties, meeting the extraordinarily dedicated owners and highlighting features that place these spectacular homes in a league of their own. After the nationwide search one property will be declared Britain‘s Best Home’ in the stunning series finale.

Episode 1.

Property journalist Michael Holmes, interiors consultant Melissa Porter and property developer Russell Harris work on a stunning Regency restoration in Gloucestershire, a spectacular 1930’s Villa on the south coast and rustic barn conversion in rural Wiltshire.

Episode 2.

This week property journalist Michael Holmes, interiors consultant Melissa Porter and property developer Russell Harris visit an ultra-sleek California-style modernist home, a dazzling converted train depot and a Georgian-inspired family home.

Episode 3.

Property journalist Michael Holmes, interiors consultant Melissa Porter and property developer Russell Harris put three more luxury houses to the test. Today, they’re exploring a Mock Tudor home in Surrey, an eccentric country estate on the Dorset Downs and a glamorous stone built pad in the Cotswolds.

Episode 4.

Property journalist Michael Holmes, interiors consultant Melissa Porter and property developer Russell Harris put three more luxury houses to the test. Today’s properties include a sumptuous barnyard cottage in Devon, a breath-taking sixteenth century old hall restoration and a remarkable bachelor pad in the Capital.

Episode 5.

Property journalist Michael Holmes, interiors consultant Melissa Porter and property developer Russell Harris put three more luxury houses to the test. Today, they’re road-testing an amazing Norfolk-based Arts and Crafts Mansion, a wonderful Georgian farmhouse in Lincolnshire and a bold and beautiful nineteenth century town house in Birmingham.

Episode 6.

Vying for your votes tonight are: a romantic New England-themed coastal home in Suffolk, an eye-catching new building suburban family home in Kent and a striking industrial conversion in South London.  Interiors expect Melissa Porter, developer Russell Harris and property journalist Michael Holmes will road-test the homes before asking you to vote just one into the final show, for the chance to win 20 000 for charity.

Episode 7.

The audience will vote one home into the final for the chance to win 20 000 pounds for charity.  Today’s properties include a fun-filled Manor House, a contemporary Town House built in a back garden plot and a converted Victorian school.

Episode 8.

For eight weeks, Michael Holmes, Melissa Porter and Russell Harris have Been visiting contenders for the title “I Own Britain’s Best Home 2009”.  Today, the eight homes chosen by the public to feature in the final episode battle it out for the prestigious title and the prize of £20 000 to donate to a chosen charity.  Who will be named owner of the best home in Britain?
