Halva Ice Cream


  • 2 litres good quality vanilla ice cream
  • 150g halva (reserve a tablespoon for the garnish)
  • 80g crushed pistachio nuts(reserve a tablespoon for the garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons honey


  1. Line a loaf tin with plastic wrap (gladwrap) and let the sides hang over.
  2. Put the softened ice cream in a bowl and add the halva and pistachio nuts, mixing until properly combined. Put neatly into the loaf tin and give it a shake so that it settles evenly in the tin.
  3. Place the tin in the freezer, ensuring it is level so that it doesn’t set angled, for about an hour or until the ice cream has completely frozen.
  4. To serve, allow the ice cream to soften slightly and turn onto a platter.
  5. Crumble some halva and pistachio nuts onto the top of the loaf and lastly drizzle the honey over the loaf allowing it to cascade down for gorgeous effect.
