Episode 1- Foraging

In this week’s episode of Fresh Cut, Jill explores the outdoors and forages through a beautiful forest area in search of natural flowers and other foraged goods. DESIGN 1: Outdoor Design

Using material found in your garden, forest or nature. This design works perfectly for an outdoor area or veranda. Remember to try and design it where you want to place it, as moving it from place to place can be rather difficult.

  • Material: Flower foam, Tree bark, Wild flowers, Foliage, Grasses.

 

DESIGN 2: Woodland Table Design Using Material from Nature

This table design is perfect for a woodland event or rustic wedding. Using material found from nature you can create a “living display”.

  • Material: Flower foam, Peonies, Daffodils, Hellebores, Amaranth, Scabious Drumstick.

 

DESIGN 3: Bamboo Design

Using dried bamboo, you can create a great vessel for your flowers. This adds a slight modern contemporary touch to a rather rustic country design.

  • Material: Bamboo, Roses, Gerberas, Arum Lilies, Cockscomb, Kalanchoe, Giant Asters, Chrysanthemums, Mini white Carnations, Lime Green Chrysanthemums.

 

Episode 2 – Sweets & Treats

DESIGN 1: Ice Cream Sunday

This design is wonderful for a young child’s birthday party. It’s fun and colourful. The sweats add a great touch to the design.

  • Material: Ice Cream Sunday Glass, Carnations, Edible Sweets, Cluster Roses.

 

DESIGN 2: Popcorn Design

This design would be perfect for a little boy’s birthday party; the Proteas add a slightly more masculine feel.

  • Material: Popcorn Box, Proteas, White Carnations.

 

 

DESIGN 3: Ice Cream Cone Design

This design would work nicely for a children’s party or a ladies tea party, hen’s party or baby shower.

  • Material: Cone shaped holder made from recycled material, Ranunculus.

DESIGN 2:

  • Vessel: Shallow square basket tray.Approx 40cm wide and 5cm high.
  • Flowers: Light and Dark Pink Carnations, White carnations, Phalaenopsis Orchid Bud, Pink Chrysanthemum, Dracaena Leaves, Reeds.
  • Sundries: Floral Foam, Cellophane, White Stones, Brown Moss, Biofix.

DESIGN 3:

Episode 8 – Floral Foam Designs

In this week’s episode of Fresh Cut, Jill shows you how to create floral designs using different types of floral foam.   • Vessel: Curved glass Salad serverApprox 15cm high and 40m wide
  • Flowers: Purple Lisianthus, Blue Iris, Yellow Craspedia and Liriope Leaves twisted into loops and anchored into the Floral Foam on both ends
  • Sundries: 3 quarters of a block of black floral foam

DESIGN 3: 

  • Mechanics: Floral Foam shape cut out as a hash tagApprox 40cm long and wide
  • Flowers: Dark and light pink Carnations andRuscus and Viburnum as greenery.
