Wehani Rice is a brown rice developed in California from basmati rice seeds. It has a good, nutty fragrant flavour, a chewy texture and a great reddish brown colour that pops on the plate.
Yield: 4 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp. butter or olive oil
- 1 cup wehani rice, rinsed
- 2 cups chicken stock, vegetable stock or water
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Method
- In a medium pot, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Stir, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
- Fluff with fork and serve.
