Ingredients
- 1/2 pound Manchego cheese, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes (1 kg)
- 1 cup flour (250 ml)
- 1 egg, lightly whisked
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs (250 ml)
- canola oil, for deep-frying
- A drizzle of honey
- A sprinkle of smoked paprika
Method
- Cut Manchego into 1 1/2 inch cubes (3.8 cm).
- Place cubes into flour, egg, then Panko crumbs.
- Preheat a deep-fat fryer to 190C/375F or ( If you haven’t got a deep fryer, fill a large saucepan one third with vegetable oil and heat.)
- Coat the cheese cubes in the flour, then egg, then Panko crumbs, then deep-fry until crisp and golden.
- Drizzle honey over and dust with the paprika.
