Dukka

Serves : 4 o 6

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (75 ml) whole, bleached almonds
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) chilli powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) curcuma
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) onion salt
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) celery salt
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground coriander

Method

  1. Cayenne pepper, to taste
  2. Use a mortar and pestle to grind the almonds into small pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Put into a small bowl.
  3. At aperitif time, serve the dukka with a small bowl of olive or sunflower oil. First dip the bread into the oil, then into the dukka. We find this appetizer on the tables of restaurants in New Zealand.
