Dukka

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) whole, bleached almonds
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame seeds
- 2 tsp (10 ml) chilli powder
- 1 tsp (5 ml) curcuma
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) onion salt
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) celery salt
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) cumin seeds
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground coriander
Method
- Cayenne pepper, to taste
- Use a mortar and pestle to grind the almonds into small pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Put into a small bowl.
- At aperitif time, serve the dukka with a small bowl of olive or sunflower oil. First dip the bread into the oil, then into the dukka. We find this appetizer on the tables of restaurants in New Zealand.
