
Doughnuts for water feature
What you will need:
- An old car tyre
- A drill
- Steel Trowel
- Rubber mallet
- 1 bucket river sand
- 1 bucket stone (small)
- 1/2 bucket cement
- Water
- Cable ties
- Small hammer
- Conduit
What to do:
- Find an old car tyre, cut into half. Use cable ties to put the two halves back together again (drill some holes in tyre to thread through the cable ties)
- Mix 1 bucket of river sand, 1 bucket of stone and ½ a bucket of cement with water.
- Place a piece of ordinary conduit (PVC pipe) in the centre of your tyre mould then pour concrete into the tyre , use a trowel to agitate the mixture and make sure you pack it into the tyre.
- Then smooth the down the top with a trowel to create a smooth finish.
- Leave the mould for 3 – 4 days in the sun to dry.
- To remove the mould: firstly cut off the extra piece of the piece, then simply cut off the cable ties and remove the tyre around the dried doughnut.
- You will need at least 4 of doughnuts.
