router (or trio) Melamine 16mm (white with 3mm impact black edging)
18 volt Cordless Drill driver top and bottom – 648 mm x 350 mm – 2 pieces. edged 1 long and two short sides
PSR select cordless screwdriver Sides – 848 mm x 350 mm – 2 pieces. edged 1 long side
jigsaw shelves – 616 mm x 350mm – 3 pieces. Edged 1 long side
backing board 3 mm white coated masonite. 648 x 880 mm – 1 piece
PSM 18 sander drawer front and back – 302 mm x 195mm – 4 pieces. Edged 1 long side with white thin edging
  drawer sides – 318mm x 195mm – 2 pieces. Edged 1 long side with white thin edging
  drawer bottom – masonite 3mm – 334 mm x 302mm – 1 piece
  drawer doors – 302 mm x 198mm – 2 pieces edged all sides
  Door knobs/handles x 2
Perspex 5 mm white (clear can also work) 350mm x 206mm – 4 pieces
3.5 x 40mm chipboard screws (eureka to supply)
plastic corner brackets – dbl type (four holes) x 1 bag
screw cap covers white.
6 door stops for feet
1 piece of meranti 120mm x 50mm – 16mm thick. NB not laminated.

Steps to build the Shoe cabinet

  1. mark out and drill pilot holes where shelves fit on the sides.
  2. mark out and drill where sides fit to the top and bottom.
  3. router groove in shelves for perspex.
  4. assemble
  5. add on door stops for feet
  6. attach backing
  7. slide in perspex.
  8. cover screws
  9. Make drawers
    1. attach sides and front
    2. attach bottom
    3. fit door knobs/handles to the front panel
    4. attach front panel to drawers
    5. insert into shoe rack.
