Take one sheepish DIY-er, one disastrous project, and one pissed off partner who blows the whistle on their well-meaning loved one.  Armed with quick wit, a little sarcasm, and a lot of patience, veteran contractor Bryan Baeumler teaches homeowners invaluable building skills and gets these families out of renovation hell.

Kitchen Crash

Amanda is a flight attendant whose plans for a new kitchen took a nose dive after she realized she had no idea what she was doing. Having gone two years without a proper stove, her boyfriend Carl is fed up. Amanda has to complete the kitchen or she may end up flying solo!

Episode 2

Basement Bedlam

Grant may be the culinary king in the kitchen, but his basement has been left in raw and extra rare form. Walls are poorly framed and posts are leaning so much the room makes you dizzy. Can Bryan whip up Grant’s renovation skills enough to finish the basement? 

Episode 3

Lackluster Laundry

Alex’s plans to finish a laundry room for his wife Muriam, have been stuck in the spin cycle since he began tearing the room a part three years ago. Muriam has wiped her hands clean of doing the laundry in the cramped space they are using now, though that won’t last long since the couple’s first baby is due in a few short weeks. Bryan feels the pressure to help Alex finish the laundry room in order to combat the mountain of dirty baby clothes on the horizon.

Basement Battle

Christine was a bored housewife who thought she could not only manage the house, but renovate it as well. Desperate for a kid-friendly basement area, Christine’s initial excitement and her hammer got the best of her. Now her family is left with an unusable space surrounded by mismatched cabinetry and a crumbling foundation. Bryan surprises Christine with some newfound handy skills and both find something lurking behind a cabinet that’s a first in Disaster DIY history!

Clueless Kitchen

Danny’s little knowledge of even basic renovation tasks like measuring and cutting didn’t stop him from completely gutting a staple room in his family’s home – the kitchen. A once functioning kitchen that needed a minor cabinet makeover now looks like the shoddy inside of an abandoned shack. His wife Margarite can’t stand eating holiday dinners from the living room couch any longer. Bryan steps in to help Danny get this family eating off the couch.

BeginnerBathroom Baby

Claire’s dream Master Bathroom has taken so long, the dream is slowly descending into a full on nightmare. Her husband Jason began renovating four years ago, and though the couple has its first baby, the ensuite is still in the early stages of framing. Claire gets Bryan’s help to tell Jason that this bathroom break from finishing the project is up.

Engagement Under Construction

They say you need to have something borrowed on your wedding day, but what about beforehand? Maria wishes she could borrow a professional contractor to finish the ongoing renovations in her first house with soon-to-be husband Roy. When the couple first bought the home, she agreed to a minor wallpaper makeover, but now the entire main floor is completely gutted and unlivable. With an upcoming wedding looming, Bryan has to get this couple out of Maria’s parents house and teach Roy a few construction tips and hopefully marriage ones too!

The Inaction Star

And the award for ‘Most Procrastinated Renovation’ goes to Scot’s movie theatre that has been in progress for 10 years. Scot promised his wife Alina a cool game and movie theatre area when their first son was a toddler. Now her firstborn is a teenager, the couple has two more kids and a basement room filled with Scot’s toys, games and hundreds of collectibles. Alina has nominated Bryan to help Scot avoid winning a lifetime achievement award for best unfinished renovation!

The Imperfectionist

There’s a thin line between perfectionist and professional procrastinator and Joe claims to be the former, but is actually the latter. His wife Sharyn is tired of her husband’s perfectionist excuse and just sees a perfectly unfinished basement. Enter Bryan, ready to show Joe that being a perfectionist is unproductive and attempt to perfect some of Joe’s unhandy skills.

Kitchen Impossible

Not only has Jeff lost his kitchen, he’s close to losing his sanity. His wife Paula has taken it upon herself to pioneer the kitchen renovations in her house and has her own wacky ideas of how to do so. Bryan’s used to taking on challenging renovations, but how will he fare with this challenging homeowner?

Barely Backyard

Kim has put up with the family’s beastly backyard ever since the family moved in five years ago. Her husband Dave, a comic artist who is used to being the teacher, has everything to learn about renovations. Watch as Bryan mentors Dave into becoming the superhero of this renovation and rescues this troubled backyard.

Donald’s Dilemma

Donald’s mother is tired of hosting holiday functions because her son’s kitchen has been mid-renovation for the last few years. Despite being an expert landscape artist, Donald’s skills in the kitchen are novice at best. Watch as Bryan grows Donald’s handy skills to make his kitchen look as good as his garden.

Boss of Bryan 

Blame stubbornness, lack of know-how, or both ~ but Ms. Gabriel’s backyard has taken a backseat in upkeep over the last few years. Her idea of fixing the fence is using coat hangers to keep fence boards from falling down. Her daughter Carolynna needs an ally in Bryan to open her mom’s eyes to the rough state of the backyard and help her realize she needs to relinquish control. Bryan has his hands full with this huge backyard and Ms. Gabriel’s even bigger personality!

Arrested Reno – Koester

Danielle is accusing her jail guard father Andrew of attempted renovation! The crime? One bathroom shared among seven grown adults. Bryan has arrived to get this arrested renovation going for good and Andrew has no escape!

Battered Basement – Pike

Zeb’s experience in building props has not helped him at all in renovating his basement. Though the props look great, they are not meant to be long-lasting. Not like the basement reno his wife is desperate for Zeb to complete. Bryan is about to help Zeb create a more permanent solution and correctly finish the basement once and for all.

Perfectionist Michael has lost his way. Instead of focusing on one project at a time, he moves on to others without finishing any. His wife Marci has had enough and called in the big guns – Bryan. Bryan’s job is to help Michael realize that unfinished projects are not so perfect!

Maya has to learn her love of interior design means only changing what’s on the outside of the walls, rather than what lurks behind them. Her big sister Rebecca panicked when she found the walls and ceiling on the floor. Maya needs Bryan to put the third floor back together before she’s left not only homeless, but sisterless too.

Hairy Scary Reno – Margiotta

Carlos may be an expert hair dresser in the salon, but he’s definitely not on the cutting edge of home renovations. His wife Lori may have her own personal hairstylist, but she would trade it all for a personal contractor who could create a functioning kitchen. Bryan has to expand Carlos’s tool belt to include more than just scissors and shears.

Chris’s renovation looks more like a crime scene, rather than a bathroom. His wife Lori’s patience with the unfinished reno has gone down the proverbial toilet (she doesn’t have a real one yet). Bryan’s here to get this cop off probation and finish the bathroom for good.

The Ugly Deck-ling – Barber

Pierre’s laid back nature is rubbing off on his attitude towards completing his disastrous deck. With a number of tiny toddlers running around the property, and a rotting deck with no safety railing, going to the cottage has proved more safety hazard, instead of relaxed vacation. Pierre’s sisters Beth and Sandra are about to put an end to Pierre’s peaceful vacation and transform the ongoing project from death trap to delightful deck.

Robyn’s overseas vacation to his family cottage is about to come to an abrupt halt. He and his brother Robert helped renovate the kitchen years ago and threw it together with little thought, knowledge and especially logic! Their mother Jane is sick of using an old bathroom vanity as countertop space and gets one of her sons into learning how to renovate properly.

Slacker Siding – Speller

Jennifer and Dave live at their cottage full-time and Jennifer is tired of her house looking like an eye sore and not a home. Not only does Dave have his wife nagging him of the work that needs to be done, but also an outspoken father-in-law named Bill. Bryan’s not only going to help Dave get the siding on the house, but also Bill off Dave’s back.

Rob’s hired helper Sam is anything but helpful! Even with the motivation of having his own space at the cottage hasn’t inspired Sam to convert a tool shed filled with junk into his own private space. Bryan is about to make sure Sam’s lazy days of summer are more work and less play.

Ellen and Alan live full time at their cottage and play host to bumbling grandchildren throughout the year. With a tool shed that’s on the verge of collapse, Ellen thinks it’s the perfect time to convert the terrible tool shed into a bubbly bunkie. But can Bryan get Alan to buckle down and build the bunkie from the ground up?

A little knowledge doesn’t always go a long way! Despite being under the wing of a well-known contractor, poor ‘Steve’ attempted to impress his future mother-in-law by building a complicated deck and stairs with only the building know-how of a novice. Can Bryan help ‘Steve’ build a safe deck and stairs to prevent not only a steep drop off a cliff, but also a steep drop in approval from Steve’s future mother-in-law?

Marn’s dream second-storey deck is a real second-storey death trap! Her well-intentioned husband Gord has been promising a deck with a view for years, but right now the kitchen walk-out is more of a kitchen fall-out–onto the ground 20 feet below.  Bryan’s here to rescue this reno from turning into a real life catastrophe.
