Decadent Chocolate Brownies, drizzled with icing sugar
Ingredients
- 200g good quality chocolate
- 250 g butter
- 150 pecan nuts(Optional)
- 80g cocoa powder
- 65g flour
- 1teaspoon baking powder
- 350g castor sugar
- 4 large eggs
Method
- Preheat oven to 180’C
- Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler or a bowl which has been placed over simmering water.
- Grease a rectangular baking tin and line it with greaseproof paper(this will later be used as part of the decoration)
- Add nuts. Mix together the cocoa,flour, baking powder and sugar in a separate bowl. Add to the melted chocolate and mix it thoroughly by hand.
- Pour the mixture into the baking tray and bake for about 25 minutes.
- The brownies appear gooey in the centre but this is perfect as they set slightly as they cool. Cut into squares once cooled and drizzle with icing sugar and sliced strawberries.
