Ingredients:
- 8 Slices of Bread
- 150 g Sultana and Raisins (75g + 75g each)
- ½ Jar of Strawberry or Raspberry Jam
- 200 g butter / spread
- 250 ml Milk
- 2 – 3 Eggs
- Sugar (to sprinkle on top)
- Custard for serving
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180oC
- Use elegant lazy tea cups for a stylish individual portion
- Cut the slices of bread into half – creating triangle pieces
- Take four half slices of bread, and butter each on both sides – place them in the tea cup – with the corners pointing up
- Add your Raisins and Sultanas – simply sprinkle them on top of the bread – making an even layer
- Add a spoon or two of Strawberry or Raspberry Jam over the raisins and bread
- Put milk into a mixing bowl and whisk in the eggs
- When this becomes an almost-cream like colour (or just white with yellow parts) pour the mixture on top of the bread until it has absorbed
- Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 20 – 30 minutes
- Garnish with some fresh custard and some strawberries or raspberries
