Requirements
- Basic 30.5cm X 30.5cm cardstock trimmed to 30.5cm X 23cm
- Scoreboard and scoring tool
- Paper punch
- Glue or doublesided tape
- Scizzors or craft knife
- Ruler
- Small piece of acetate
- Peel-off stickers
- Sweets or other goodies
Instructions
Step 1: Measuring and scoring
- Trim basic 30.5cm X 30.5cm (12” X 12”) cardstock to 30.5cm X 23cm (12”X 9”)
- Score both long sides of cardstock at 1.75 cm (¾”) measurement.
- Score from the top of short side at following measurements:
- – 1 cm (½”)
– 3 cm (1 ¼”)
– 7 cm (2 ¾”)
– 9 cm (3 ½)
– 21.5 cm (8 ½) - Fold and burnish all the scored lines.
Step 2: Window
- With a ruler and craft knife, cut a window to the size of your choice into the top of the box-section of your card (7cm / 2 ¾” section).
- NB. Make sure you stop cutout about ½ cm from the edges to leave a frame around your window.
- Cut a piece of asetate to fit the window on your card and attach at the back with glue or double-sided tape.
Step 3: Punching and Peel-offs
- Decorate the edge of the card section with an edge punch and by sticking peel-off sticker strips to the card and window edge.
Step 4: Assembling the box-card
- With a metal ruler and a craft knife, cut away both long edges on the scored lines up to where the multiple folds start.
- Cut notches into the edges of the box part of the card.
- Assemble your box using glue or double sided tape leaving one end of box open to fill with Jellybeans later.
Step 5: Adding the final touches
- Finish your card off by running the inkpad along the edges just to add a slight tint of colour.
- Attach paper flowers and leaves – instructions below.
- Fill the box-card with Jellybeans.
Optional requirements for paper flowers:
- Card stock in complementing colours for paper flowers and leaves
- Cutting machine (Big Shot)
- Cutting die for paper flowers
- Toothpick, wooden skewer or quilling tool
Instructions
Creating paper flowers and leaves
- Starting from the outside, roll the die-cut paperflower over the toothpick/ skewer/ quilling tool.
- When reaching the inside, add a dot of glue and press flower petals together.
- Leaves can be cut out or punched out. Roll the edges over a skewer to shape.
