Chalk paint is any crafters addiction; with its multiple uses on various surfaces, it makes it hard not use.  This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Sofia da Cunha of O’Grady’s Paint. She will show us the versatile uses of this product on wood, ceramics and fabric. She will teach us various techniques such as painting on different surfaces, distressing, creating texture and so much more!

Requirements

  • Ceramic vase – glazed
  • A piece of cotton lace
  • Soft t-shirt cloth
  • O’Grady’s Antique Liquid Wax
  • O’Grady’s Chalk Craft  paint in Honey Mustard
  • Paint brush

Instructions

  • Step 1: Paint the vase in Honey Mustard, one coat is enough.
  • Step 2: While the paint is still wet, place cotton lace on the edge of the vase, and paint over the lace with the same colour to create a stencil effect. Peel off the lace while it’s still wet and allow the paint to dry completely.
  • Step 3: Once it is dry use your cloth to apply Antique Liquid Wax. Rub the wax into the paint until you achieve the desired look. You will notice the lace pattern is a lot more visible now with the wax. Your project is now complete and ready to be used.
