A fun project with many possible uses. The utility box can be customized to fit your needs – whether for camera gear, crafting or even as a picnic box.

Follow these steps:
Utility Picnic box
- Mark out on base where sides fit and drill pilot holes
- Build bottom frame
- Attach to the base
- Repeat this for the top box
- Sand and varnish
- Fit hinges (this step we might move to later)
- Cut angle to fit the top and bottom
- Cut flat bar to fit around the lip
- Drill holes and pop rivet all the aluminium pieces
- Tape closed and paint inside black
Insert
- Cut wood to size to fit base
- Assemble outer frame
- Attach to the base
- Cut dividers to size
- Attach to the base and frame
- Sand and varnish
- Insert into box
