By Kim Geyser
K Craft

Requirements

  • A variety of refill inks or stamp pads
  • An empty ice-cream punnett
  • Handmade paper
  • Stamps

Instructions

  1. Use stamp pad ink or ink refills to make a solution of water and ink (approx. 20:1) in a container wide and deep enough to dip your pages. We used an ice cream punnett.
  2. Dip your paper into the ink as far as possible.
  3. Remove and allow it to dry in between dipping into the different colours.
  4. Repeat the process by dipping a smaller length of paper into the solution. Allow it to dry. You can do this until you like the colour or shades on your paper.
  5. Once the paper is dry you can stamp over the inked pages using an archival quality Ink.

Requirements

  • 1 x canvas
  • A variety of coloured inks available from K Craft
  • Brush
  • 1 x flower stencil
  • Olive Glimmer Mist
  • Funtex or similar texture paste
  • Palette knife
  • Ink pad
  • Glue
  • Ceramic embellishments and paper flowers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the background on canvas with the coloured ink. Spray the canvas with the ink and blend it in with a brush until you have the desired effect
  2. Position the stencil over the canvas and using Olive Glimmer Mist spray over the canvas. Remove stencil and leave it to dry.
  3. Using texture paste and a palette knife, transfer a design onto the bottom part of the canvas with a stencil. You need to do this by lightly smearing the paste over the stencil with a palette knife, allow it to Dry.
  4. Add additional colour by using an ink pad, lightly dab over the textured designs and allow it to dry.
  5. Decide where you would like to have the calendar and embellishments, then apply glue to the back of the embellishments and stick them onto the canvas.

Note: If you would like to give your ceramic pieces a more vintage look, you can use your ink pad or glimmer mist to change the colour slightly.
