Gutted. The show, which broadcasts this month on BBC owned UKTV puts the modern day obsession with material goods to the test. With many of our homes filled to bursting point and national debt at It’s highest since records began, do we really need all our material goods?
In the show, one unknowing punter returns home to find their house stripped of all possessions which have been loaded into delivery vans outside. Getting everything back couldn?t be easier – all they have to do is remember what they had. And they?ve got a day in which to do it. Anything they can?t recall is sold off to auction the next day.

15 - 19 February
On a quiet estate in Croydon Surrey lives the Ellis family - John, his wife Jill and their 3 children. A happy nuclear family on the surface, but bubbling beneath the seemingly normal exterior is a clutter problem that is driving the family mad.
Since collecting his first Empire film magazine in 1992, John has amassed a collection that comprises of 200 issues, a collection that happens to be driving Jill round the bend. But the magazines are just the tip of the ice-berg - figurines, movie posters, collectible Titanic plates, glassware, books and over 400 DVD?s are squeezing every last inch out of the Ellis household. Jill realises it?s time for John to de-clutter, but John finds it near impossible to prize himself way from his beloved items, with the promise of „de-cluttering? never coming to fruition.

Karen is lively, fun and larger than life with a penchant for hapless hoarding that has left her crying out for more space in her sizeable six-bedroom house! and relocate to the bright lights of Blackpool for a fresh start. Having bought a six bedroom former B & B she thought there would be no way that they would ever run out of space but now the unthinkable has happened.
Karen is a collector by nature and she believes she inherited this trait from her mother. Every nook and cranny of Karen?s home is brimming with trinkets & glassware, cherished bears and Tupperware. Even the hallway is lined with 10 mirrors not 1 and the more you delve beneath the surface of Karen?s home the more collections you find.
With three growing teenagers living in the house Karen is rapidly running out of room and has decided something has to give. Karen longs to redecorate but at present you can?t see most of the surfaces, let alone get at them with a paintbrush. So as hard as it will be, it is finally time for the Rumsey household to clear out.

Larger than life, charismatic & charming, Graham loves his bargain buys so much that he can't bring himself to part with them and they have taken over his home. Coronation posters, James Bond memorabilia, Elvis records, Victorian paintings, signet rings, 8mm films & projectors, 1960s golf buggy, original newspapers from the day the Titanic sank, Lowrie sketches, Royal Doulton plates (worth £6k!!!!) 51 inch TV, videos, DVDs, signed posters of the Beatles, annuals, collectable comics....you name it & you will probably find it in Graham?s front room. Despite a lock up & a house full, Grahams hoard has even migrated into the backseat of his rather fitting N reg clapped out old Jag.
08 - 12 March
Sarah Jane is a commercial risk manager for The Royal Bank of Scotland. She is the quintessential example of the „Essex girl?, always perfectly presented and dressed in designer clothing.
On the surface of it Sarah?s house looks clean, tidy and normal, but it?s when you look deeper that you see every inch of space has been economically used to house as many items as possible.
Sarah is a self-confessed shopaholic and will regularly spend four hundred pounds a week on clothing.
Sarah is desperate to find „Mr. Right? but first needs to de-clutter her home to make space for him. At present “he couldn?t even bring a toothbrush round”.
15 - 19 March
Each episode sees the Gutted team empty the entire contents from a hoarders house. Everything the hoarder/collector remembers they get back, but everything they forget goes to auction. After the sale they face the biggest dilemma of all, to take the money raised on the saleroom floor, or, take all of their stuff back…
Kim is an administrator for a Reading based mortgage provider. Her and her family are keen members of the local Amateur Dramatics society and throw themselves into community life. Unfortunately for Kim?s husband Tim, she is also an avid watcher of shopping channels such as QVC, and once she?s had a glass of wine or two… she?s unstoppable.
22 March - 26 March
Alexandra Stuart-Brinkley has lived in the same Manchester house for more than 30 years. Filled with books, glassware and collectibles, her home is literally at bursting point leaving little room to move. To Alex, her items are her comfort blanket, but with retirement on the cards she is facing the biggest dilemma of her life.
Alex is aiming to retire this year and move to sunny Cornwall to live with her mum Daphne. This means Alex needs to not only sell her Manchester home, but also say goodbye to over 35 years of collections. Daphne has given Alex an ultimatum, either give up her possessions, or give up her dream of relocating.
For Alex, the pull of Cornwall is an exciting end to her working life, but her possessions are leaving her torn and unable to make the commitment to move. Best friend Barbara has been with Alex through the good times and the bad, but even Barbara recognises this could be the biggest challenge of Alex?s life.
39 March - 02 April
Jimmy just can?t help himself. Dinky cars, mobile phones, antique tins, model motorbikes, full scale racing bikes, fridge magnets, baseball caps, number plates…even coca cola memorabilia. Jimmy Aspinall has turned his modest 3 bedroom bungalow in Rhyl into the ultimate collector?s haven.
This was all well and good until his fiancée Paula decided she would like to move in, but where to, you here her cry??? There is simply no room for Paula and her belongings and it is certainly not very female friendly. So Jimmy has agreed, the collections need to be scaled down, the clutter cleared and bachelor bungalow full of boys toys is going to be made more family friendly.
05 - 09 April
Having already lived in their house for the past 8-½ yrs with their 9-yrold son, Paul & his wife Samantha recently had an unexpected addition to their family - a little girl called Esme. Subsequently they find themselves with very little room in their 2 bedroom house & they need to clear Pauls lads pad in the attic to make room to make an extra bedroom. Paul is the main collector & space offender when it comes to having more than his fair share of the house. He has a large collection of books including the complete works of Terry Pratchett, a collection of retro toys, DVDs, CDs, some sci fi weekly back catalogues & a Scooby doo memorabilia fad.
Nominated by his father, who better to encourage Paul that it?s time to grow up and create the necessary space for his own growing family. But it?s not as easy as that – and watching some of his beloved belongings go under the hammer leaves Paul in a quandary as to what to do when the auction ends..
12 - 16 April
Juliana has a peculiar relationship with her clutter. She knows she needs a good clear out but with busy lives and a lack of motivation, despite the constant nagging from eldest daughter Jenny, it just never seems to get done. Jenny reckons it?s about time for drastic action and has called in the Gutted team.
Juliana is about to start a new job, so is desperate to get the house sorted before this. In the past they?ve tended to move the stuff from one place to the next, but it?s finally time to get some of it out their hair.
This episode of Gutted is a mother versus daughter battle, with Jenny setting up her mum as the Guttee. But Juliana is resistant to change to say the least – so Jenny?s work doesn?t stop when the house has been cleared...
19 April - 23 April
Mo and Phil Wilson live in a quiet area of Wickford, Essex. They have a large 6 bedroom home but the space has been swallowed by years of collecting. Over the past few years the house has been home to as many as 12 members of the family, but as the family members move on they leave all of their possessions behind – Mo can?t bear to part with anything, but Phil too is adding to the junk with his dinky toys and Beano comic collections. Games machines and enormous TV?s also litter the house leaving the identity of the home under question.
Mo?s eldest daughter Michelle has had enough of the mess and thinks the house needs to be reclaimed. Michelle would love to see the home streamlined, the rooms cleared and her mum happy again.
