23 - 27 November One lucky lottery winner will make this million-dollar ocean view their home. But before tickets go on sale this 80’s kitchen needs a serious update. Not easy as the house is a five hour flight from design inc.’s home base. Sarah and team wrangle west coast style into the enormous space in spite of cross-country delays and a wayward truck carrying all furniture and fixtures! design inc. wrangles west coast style into a huge lottery home kitchen!
30 November - 04 December Lindsay’s big city apartment needs serious downtown vibe. design inc.’s promise to help is quickly sidetracked by their own looming deadlines. Lindsay works alongside Sarah as they transform her tiny apartment into a luxe space that works for all reasons. Both Sarah and Lindsay learn valuable design lessons along the way! design inc. shoehorns downtown style into a tiny, 300 square foot apartment!
07 - 11 December Margo’s sad dining room holds little more than a cast-me-down outdoor patio set. She gives Sarah and design inc. carte blanche to bring it up to formal and family standard. An easy job is dogged by design indecision and misdirected deliveries. Yet their efforts result in a showcase dining room which no longer screams please pass the mustard! design inc. takes a large neglected dining room from zero to fabulous in no time flat!
14 - 18 December Didem’s bowling-alley kitchen strikes out as centrepiece of her main floor. Sarah and design inc. share her vision of a warm and inviting space. Yet they must negotiate a parallel world of indecision and hand-holding to get there. Didem adores the resulting kitchen – it’s a modern and inspiring showpiece for their home! design inc. transforms a tired bowling alley kitchen into a showpiece!
21 - 25 December Michael’s asked design inc. to make his suburban living/dining room stand apart from the cookie-cutter crowd. This fireman takes the decisions into his own hands until utter confusion prompts him to 9-1-1 his wife. This run of the mill space poses its share of design challenges and boasts a lengthy ‘to do’ list. Sarah and crew resuscitate it into a stylish lounge with durability to withstand the rigors of two young kids. Standard issue living stands apart from the crowd after a visit from design inc.!
28 December - 01 January Wendy’s kitchen is the centre of family life. More Brady Bunch than Sunday brunch this 70’s nightmare needs major modernizing. Sarah and design inc. keep the project on track as Wendy grows weary of operating from a makeshift mess hall. Input from the entire family creates a contemporary kitchen that works for everyone and even includes the all-important candy drawer for the kids! It’s a family affair as design inc. turns a retro kitchen into a modern classic!
04 - 08 January As Cheryl and her new husband prepare to move into a condo meant for one, design inc. make this pint-sized blank canvas into a newlywed nest. Despite space challenges and competing priorities, Sarah brings this bleak and bare condo to life with colour, making it live larger than any blueprint could promise. Innovative storage solutions and well-proportioned furnishings give Cheryl and her husband room to roam! Sarah turns a pint-sized “condo-minimum” into a vibrant “condo-maximum!”
11 - 15 January Craving a place away from it all Cynthia’s blown out her entire attic to create a dream master retreat. Stuck for ideas and with the holidays fast approaching, Cynthia calls on Sarah and design inc. to get it done in record time. Despite the ticking clock and little face time Cynthia gets her ultimate master suite and adjoining bath mere moments before the arrival of jolly ole St. Nick himself! design inc. works down to the holiday wire to complete the ultimate bedroom retreat!
18 - 22 January Self proclaimed ‘gypsies’, train conductors Mary and husband Jim have little time to pull together their suburban condo. Mary finds it difficult to visualize pieces in her new home and analysis-paralysis ensues. In spite of opposing schedules and indecisiveness Sarah and design inc. keep the project on track. The result - a dramatic, contemporary space dubbed “the little condo that could!” It’s full-steam ahead as design inc. makes a dramatic overhaul of a suburban condo!
25 - 29 January This tiny kitchen is at the crossroads of Julie’s home and design sensibility. Sarah and design inc. step into the fray, to make sense of its nominal storage, tiny enclosed porch and overall dated appeal. It’s a makeover riddled with missing tiles, miscommunication and a loveable yet gassy dog. In spite of all challenges Julie is wowed by modern design that blends old and new with a casual sophisticated air! design inc. combines the old with the new to make an out-of-place kitchen fit in!
01 - 05 February A kids’ playtime dining set does not a dining room make. Glen asks Sarah and design inc. to make this open concept space grow up and blend with a just finished living room. A loud and busy rug stumps the team for colour choices, which in turn overwhelm an anxious client. By keeping focused the once austere dining room boasts a contemporary air that creates the perfect backdrop for entertaining! design inc. turns a lacklustre dining room into the perfect atmosphere for entertaining!
08 - 12 February A chemical flood has all but destroyed Jeff’s downtown condo, requiring everything from floor to ceiling be ripped out and replaced. As Sarah and design inc. take it on they immediately come up against condo board rules. Adding insult to injury, Jeff is robbed while the clean-up takes place. Despite the odds Jeff gets a brand new living/dining space in keeping with the loft’s hard-edged appeal, ideal for some desperately needed chill time! design inc. brings a happy ending to a condo disaster!
15 - 19 February This popular tourist restaurant needs a new attitude. Yet Sarah and design inc. can only transform the space overnight while the place is closed. Tensions rise with indecision over upholstery, paint and virtually all other elements. Bleary eyed, the team burns the candle at all ends to revive this tourist Mecca. Success as the customers love the update which pays homage to a storied past while looking forward to a bright future! design inc. blends function and style to bring new life to a popular tourist restaurant!
22 - 26 February Amalie’s bedroom is a victim of neglect and her busy schedule stands in the way of a good night’s sleep. Thankfully she lives right above the design inc. loft, where her dog spends a lot of time searching out treats. Amalie asks Sarah to inject some colour into this mismatched master on a shoestring budget. design inc. takes it on, turning Amalie’s bedroom into an urban oasis! design inc. helps their upstairs neighbour create a dreamy oasis on a shoestring budget!
01 - 05 March Michelle has her hands full with a busy career and three active sons. She wants a bathroom that suits all and incorporates their ideas. design inc. wades into a plethora of conflicting desires to ensure everyone is satisfied. In spite of errant tradesmen plus cabinets and vanities that are the wrong size, Sarah and design inc. delivers a cool and hip bathroom that makes the entire family happy! design inc. delivers a cool and hip bathroom fit for the entire family.
08 - 12 March Eight months pregnant and busy with client needs, Sarah hasn’t had a moment to think about her own nursery. No pink or blue, duck or bunnies are the only mandates given to the design inc. team pitching in to create a sanctuary for her new son or daughter. Each develops their own scheme for the nursery, elements of which Sarah incorporates into her final unique vision. The project is finished just in time for delivery, and it’s an inspirational space comforting for baby and parents alike! design inc. creates a space for Sarah’s most important client yet… her first child!
15 - 19 March Money’s no object to Danny when it comes to all things renovation-related. Yet his desire to see every possible option makes it a challenge for design inc. to deliver this dream bathroom on time. In spite of unforeseen project delays, Sarah and her team transform the outdated space into the bathroom Danny’s always wanted, a traditional and modern mix complete with antique vanity, soaker tub and high tech shower to start the day right! design inc. revives an outdated bathroom with traditional style and modern flare!
