PrintYour favourite local arts & craft show is back for yet another season! Show Me How has endless project ideas that are sure to inspire you to keep your creative juices flowing. Presenter Gloria Bastos will be crafting with a great line up of guests who will be guiding you through a series of great arts & crafts. Whether its glass blowing, pewter, themed décor items, metal stamping, air brushing on cakes and so much more! They will show you how it’s done.

Episode 1-Mobiles

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Roenell van Zyl for Brother International. She will show us how to add a light-hearted dimension to a living space using mobiles. She will teach us various techniques such as cutting shapes using machinery, sewing and gluing craft paper, and combining colour and patterns and so much more!

Episode 2-Mosaics by Mosaics with Lemaryn

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Lemaryn Alberts of Mosaics by Lemaryn. She shows us the versatile uses of mosaics on chairs, mirrors, tissue boxes, holders, outdoor designs and a whole lot more. She will teach us various techniques such as cutting and gluing glass tiles, adding grout, texture, creating different colour shades and so much more! We will also visit her factory where she shows us the production of these glass tiles.

Episode 3-Perpetual Calendar with Cindy Duncan of Say Something

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Cindy Duncan from Say Something. She shows us how to make a functional and decorative birthday calendar with an antique look. She will teach us various techniques such as metal stamping, painting, creating texture and so much more!

Episode 4-Paper Piecing Quilting Technique with Annette van Rensburg and Anastacia Manyosi

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Anette van Rensburg from Mezomade Quilting & Sewing. She shows us how to make a placemat using patterned fabrics and hand stitching techniques. She will teach us various skills such as working with templates, mixing patterns, sewing using a blind hem stitch and so much more! Anastacia Manyosi from Priti Print also joins us in studio to show us how to use machinery to cut fabric into any desired shape.

Episode 5-Glass

Glass forming dates back as far as 4000 years back and it is still hugely popular today. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Marileen van Wyk from GFA studios and she shows us the endless possibilities of what can be created with glass. She will teach us various techniques such as working with hot glass, creating different glass shapes, designs and so much more! We also visit her in her studio where she shows us why she fell in love with this craft.

Episode 6-Pewter

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Yvonne Botha of Mimmic Gallery and Studio. She shows us the versatile uses of pewter. She will teach us various techniques such as using stencils to create lovely and intricate designs, cutting pewter, engraving, adding patina and polish to give pewter its tone and so much more! We also visit her studio where she tells us about her passion and she also shows us her pewter collection.

Episode 7-Teddy Bears

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Michelle Neethling from Honeydew Bears and she will show us the versatile and exciting craft of teddy bear making. She will teach us various techniques such as following patterns to create the bear, cutting mohair, using various stitches, airbrushing, assembling the bear using joints and stuffing, and so much more! We also visit her in her studio where she convinces us why we should take up this hobby.

Episode 8-Chalk Paints

Chalk paint is any crafters addiction; with its multiple uses on various surfaces, it makes it hard not use. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Sofia Da Cunha of O’Grady’s Paint. She will show us the versatile uses of this product on wood, ceramics and fabric. She will teach us various techniques such as painting on different surfaces, distressing, creating texture and so much more!

Episode 9-Amigurumi Crochet

The Japanesse art of knitting and crocheting is a new worldwide craze that has also hit South African boarders. Amigurumi crochet is a fun craft that can be used to create key rings, bears, small animals and a whole lot more. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Wilma La Cock of Skapie Needle Crafts. She will show us how to crochet a lovely snail. She will teach us various techniques such as following patterns, increasing and decreasing stitches, calculating stitches, slip stitch, stuffing the snail, adding different colours and so much more!

Episode 10-Felting with Mandy Yearsley of Just Unwind

Needle felting is an exciting craft that can create one of a kind items such as 3D characters, cushions, brochures, jewellery and so much more. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Mandy Yearsley of Just Unwind. She introduces us to this versatile and colourful craft. She will teach us various skills such as felting using roving, adding different colours, making different shapes, creating 3D designs and so much more!

Episode 11-Journals

Creative journals are a great way to store lasting memories. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Liezel Roets of Scrap-a-doodles. She shows us the exciting and creative craft of making lasting memoribila. She will teach us various techniques such as cutting, binding, creating stickers, using stencils, punching paper and so much more!

Episode 12- Personalised event stationary & Décor with Scan and Cut Machine

Parties, get-togethers and special occasions help us to share sentimental moments with our loved ones. What better way to make these memories even more special than with perfectly decorated and themed occasions. This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Roenell van Zyl from Brother International. She shows us how to use the Scan-N-Cut machine to create our own silicone stamps, write personalised text, make stunning textured cards and a 3D gift box.

Episode 13-Airbrushing on cakes

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Paul Fouché of Mondeor Homebake Supplies. He shows us how to create a stunning cake decoration using airbrushing techniques for a striking ‘frozen’ themed cake. He will teach us various techniques such how to use airbrushing techniques, decorating cakes using figurines, how to create different shades and styles, using stencils and so much more! We will also visit his studio where he shows us the in-depth process of cake decoration.
