This year our Get Growing team includes popular gardening guru Lynda Hallinan, landscaping expert Justin Newcombe back this season to bring you a brand new interactive format of gardening and outdoor space inspiration.

New to Get Growing this year is gardening expert Nicola Kawana. A qualified horticulturalist and professional gardener Nicola brings with her an extensive knowledge of practical gardening know how as well as creative ideas and solutions.

And this year the Get Growing team will be hitting the road. Lynda, Nicola and Justin will be meeting the public through Q & A events being held in Auckland, Tauranga and Rotorua. Talking through plant, garden and outdoor space challenges – our team will be providing on the spot advice, tips, practical help and inspiration.

Justin and Nicola will meet viewers at their homes, responding to their questions and request for help, they’ll lend a practical hand – providing on season gardening solutions and expert assistance – turning their produce, garden and landscaping projects into an entertaining, weekly half hour of priceless gardening advice, outdoor inspiration and local on season information… it’s all part of this exciting new look show.

Episode 1

In the season premiere of The Get Growing Roadshow, Lynda Hallinan and her team take on backyard and gardening challenges. Justin Newcombe finds inspiration in a hillside zen garden and new presenter Nicola Kawana tackles an overgrown garden that’s completely out of control.

Episode 2

In this week’s episode of the Get Growing Roadshow Lynda Hallinan’s team are out and about taking on challenges in viewers gardens and outdoor spaces. Lynda presents a surprising range of produce that can be grown in pots, Justin Newcombe checks out an inner city sanctuary and reinvigorates a boring balcony. Meanwhile, Nicola Kawana solves a backyard with privacy problem.

Episode 3

This week Lynda presents top planting tips for springtime gardening, Justin demonstrates the best way to lay a new lawn from scratch, and Nicola lends a hand to a couple who have inherited a 50’s rock garden and struggling rhododendrons.

Episode 4

This week Justin and Lynda take the Get Growing Roadshow to Rotorua, Nicola makes over a volcanic rock property creating a bountiful kitchen garden and Justin lends a hand designing macrocarpa planter boxes.  Linda sparks interest in a bygone plant and gives practical advice on caring for rosemary, rhubarb and broad beans.

Episode 5

This week Justin and Nicola transform a dull backyard into a private family garden, Lynda brings her top tips for this weekend garden activity and Justin explores a contemporary subtropical outdoor living space by Zones Landscaping Specialists.

Episode 6

This week Nicola transforms a dull property frontage into a Balinese inspired slice of paradise, Lynda brings her top tips for bountiful tomato crops and Justin tours a Matakana property with an impressive outdoor living space designed and built by Jon Plowman from Scapes.

Episode 7

This week Lynda Hallinan reveals how to get bumper crops of berries and passion fruit, Nicola visits contemporary florist and author Carole Bowden, Justin turns a small balcony space into a productive garden and tours an idyllic landscaping makeover designed and built by Natural Habitats.

Episode 8

This week the Get Growing Roadshow visits West Auckland to meet viewers and answer their seasonal questions.  Justin and Nicola turn a cafe backyard dump site into a flourishing kitchen garden and entertainment area for customers, Lynda gives her top tips for the weekend gardening and Justin visits the famous Middle Earth movie set and home of Hobbiton gardens for inspiration.

Episode 9

This week Justin and Nicola join forces to convert an unused backyard space into a special place for summer, Justin refurbishes a composting system using a three stage system designed in New Zealand and Lynda shows us her take on a kiwi bush tucker garden plus we get inspiration from Auckland’s beautiful Eden Gardens.

Episode 10

In the final episode of the season, Justin shows how to create a no dig veggie garden, Nicola discovers the abundant varieties of edible flowers and Lynda gives her top tips for this weekend in the garden.
