Overview

Kia Cook-Off SA 2012 is The Home Channel’s brand new cooking competition show looking for the best one-pot cook in the country. In the show, 27 contestants compete for the top spot and a grand prize of R50 000 and a holiday for two.

Each week three contestants cook their favorite one-pot dish, be it a curry, a casserole, a potjie or a stew, and each week two go home and one goes through to the semi-finals. In the final episode the three remaining cooks will re-create their original dish, with improvements and suggestions from the judges, in the hopes of being awarded the prize.

Episode 14: Celebrity Special

This week on a very special episode of the Kia Cook-Off SA 2012 three local celebrities compete to see who cooks the best one-pot dish.

Danny K whips up a Portuguese baked fish, Kurt Darren prepares a lamb knuckle bunny chow, and Jen Su creates a delicious chicken stew.

In addition to the bragging rights of the best celebrity cook, the winner wins R20 000 for Shout SA, a campaign by South African artists for a safer South Africa.

Episode 13: The Final Episode

It’s all come down to this. The Final of the Kia Cook-off SA 2012. 27 contestants have been reduced to three hopeful home cooks who have made it this far and a one-in-three chance of winning the R50 000 grand prize. Will it be Babe Masuge with her Rosemary Chicken Potjie? Will it be Siresha Govender with her Pondicherry Potjie? Or will it be Levy Volker with his Springbok Pie? Episode 12: Third Semi Final

This week on the Kia Cook-Off SA 2012 the three returning cooks are vying for the last remaining place in the final and a one-in-three chance of winning the R50 000 grand prize. They’ll have to vastly improve their dishes if they want to stand a chance. Siresha Govender is back with her Pondicherry potjie, Pru Mosito attempts to wow the judges with her chicken & mushroom casserole, and Niezaam Manuel hopes to win them over with his butter chicken? Who will go through to the final?

Episode 11: Second Semi Final

In the second semi-final of the Kia Cook-Off SA 2012 the three contestants battling it out for a place in the final and a one-in-three chance of winning the grand prize of R50 000 are Babe Masuge with her Rosemary chicken potjie, Rodwin Bailey with his lamb tagine and Natalie Naidoo with her samp & beans potjie. Who will go through to the final?

Episode 10: First Semi Final

In the first semi-final of the Kia Cook-Off SA 2012, the three returning home cooks try to out-do each other and prepare a perfect dish to win a place in the final and a one-in-three chance of winning the R50 000 grand prize. Kasturi Lachmann returns with her Mutton curry, Levy Volker comes back to improve his Springbock Pie, and Shakira Hope makes a better version of her Boerewors & baked bean curry? Who will go through to the final?

This week the three amateur cooks competing in the Kia Cook-Off SA 2012 are fighting for the last available place in the semi-finals. Will Christy Jacobs Chicken Tikka Massala get her through? Will the judges favour Christopher Nemeth’s Oxtail stew? Or will they choose Niezaam Manuel’s Butter chicken?
