Blackboard Makeover
What you’ll need:
Material list
- 16mm chipboard
- 1500 x 1000 – 1 piece
- 1000 x 500 – 1 piece
- 3mm ply wood – 10 pieces 100 x 200
- 3mm ply wood – 300 x 300
- NOTE: we can also use 6mm but nothing thicker as these are for the letters
- aluminium tread plate 1040 x 300 1 piece
- Black board paint – 5 ltr
- Wall paint to match current colour
- Stain – dark for the letters
- clear varnish – 1 ltr
- “glue screws” (Den Braven brand) plus caulking gun
- NOTE: It looks like silicone(10mm can also work)
- 8 x 100mm nail in anchors x 12
- Double sided tape – 2 rolls
Power tools
- PST 18 Cordless jig saw plus thin blade
- PSR 18 VLI Cordless drill driver
- Uneo Max + bits !! (new machine – get from rouhan)
- PFS 55 Spray gun
- New paint roller ( I will bring from Rouhan)
- PSM 18 cordless Sander
- Angle Grinder NB!! Get multi material dics 115mm
- PCL 20 level plus rod/tripod (Get from neil Bernard)
- PMD 10 New DIY detector (Get from neil Bernard)
Steps:
- Paint the board with black board paint that you can find at your local hardware.
- Drill holes in board for attaching
- Mark out on the wall where it will hang
- Drill holes
- Attach with nail in anchors
- Letters
- – draw out templates
- – then cut out letters
- – stick onto tread plate
- – Attach to black board
